Residency SUCKS!

Okay, I try to keep most of my posts upbeat, but I just need to rant a bit tonight! Residency is HARD work for Blaine and he mostly has crappy days and is ALWAYS tired and is never home to spend time with the kids, so please Samantha or some doctors wife tell me why we are doing this? Obviously because we have too much school loan debt to quit now!!! LOL!!!:) No seriously we know there is reward at the end and Blaine loves what he is doing when he is not too tired to think, but the road at this point just seems every long! I am having a hard time as of late seeing the future perspective of this whole long process!! We have already put in 4 years of undergrad, 4 years of Medical school and now 4 years of Residency! CRAZY!, 12 years to become a Doctor and an in debt Doctor at that! But life rolls on and we choose this path to take so we are dealing with the long hours, late nights, and the two sad boys/wife who miss their dad/husband very much! By the way Blaine, I know you don't think I appreciate all that you do, but this post is really for you since, I feel so bad when I see you so dang tired and then you still have to keep going because your work is not done!! I don't mind all that I have to do at the house and with the boys, if it takes a little bit of the load off of you!!!!! :)

Well, I hear there's a paycheck somewhere at the end of this rainbow ... that's what they say, anyhow! I'm just trying to make the best of this 4th year, because the next few are going to be HARD!!!

Oh no I do not want to hear this! LOL Well at least when we get to this point I will have you to lean on. That is what families are for right? I am sorry Amber. Just hang in there and know that I am just a phone call away if you need to vent or just talk!

Someday you'll look back and wonder how you got through it but you'll feel a little stronger too! I know it must be very difficult. As an old lady, my only advice is just to cherish the time you are together - life goes by so quickly. I know when my kids were small, Marc was in school, and we rarely saw one another, I used to just focus on the future - when it would be better. But, now I think I let a lot of great moments pass by b/c I didn't focus on the present. Good luck! You are a beautiful family and your love will get you through - corny but true=)

12 years, that is alot! I don't know what it is like, but all I can say is hang in there. If you ever need a little break, I'm just around the corner. Thanks for letting Hailey come over last night. She had a real fun time.
