A Love of Reading

As I was growing up I LOVED to read.  I spent most afternoons after school at the library until my mom got off of work.  Blaine also has a love of reading and can be found most often with his kindle in hand reading a new book. We have always wanted to instill the love of reading into our children.  When Cooper started reading in Kindergarten and developed a love for books we encourged the habit and tried to always have books on hand and read with him often. Now Cooper is an excellent reader and loves to read.  When Carter showed an interest (more of an obsession) in letters at a very young age.  I started working with him everyday in the mornings for a bit.  He had a set of flash cards with his letters that he would carry around everywhere.  They were his favorite thing to carry around.  Cooper also read to Carter frequently after school.  Soon Carter started picking up on letters and the sounds each one made. That then led to him reconizing and sounding out familiar words and phrases.  It snowballed from there and now he reads on a Kindergarten level and is truely developing a love for books!  Here is a video I did of him recently reading.  It is a bit long, but it has a cute ending if you make it to the end! :)

We are Family!

Here is a picture Carter made for me on his Magna Doodle.  He included his whole family with Henry dog and baby Lucy.  I am the large one on  the end with the round circle for a tummy.  Blaine is the  skinny one in the front.  Carter said "You have a tummy bigger than daddy's mom"! LOL!!
He told me the picture in order was of daddy, Carter, Cooper, mommy and Henry.  He said it was his
family!  By the way, is my head really that big? hehehe!!! :)

28 weeks-3rd trimester

Can you tell a difference from my last pregnant pic at 21 weeks?  I feel like I am finally really showing and have started to feel like the belly is in the way and uncomfortable.  One fun new thing that happened this week was the boys and I have started feeling Lucy hiccup.  Within the last week I have felt her have the hiccups at least a dozen times.  The boys think it is so cool because they can feel the ryhthmic pattern of the hiccups bumping on my belly.  Besides the MAJOR heartburn all the time lately (I am popping tums like an addict), I am feeling really good and am enjoying this pregnancy!

What does your daddy do?

In Cooper's class at school they are talking about parents and their jobs.  When I asked the boys what does daddy do they both just said  "WORK"! :)  Cooper did  know that he was a Doctor and that he took care of sick people, but Carter had no clue.  So we decided to visit daddy at work and let them see first hand where daddy works and what he does! They loved it, especially since daddy had  cookies and candy at work! :)
Can you believe this is the first picture ever that I have of Blaine at work?
Since the hospital is an hour away and  his schedule is so crazy we have only visited him once or twice before while living in Mobile.

Easter Pics

Here are some of my trial runs with photoshop on the boy's Easter pics.  I think the pics turned out really cute and I may just have to print these out and frame them.  The funny thing is that I was just a fussing to get  these pics and the boys were not in a picture taking mood! :) Much THANKS to their dad who did something really silly to get them to smile! :)

Don't you just LOVE those squinty Britt eyes!

Britt Family Crawfish Boil!!

Once a year we get most of the Britts together for an annual crawfish boil.  We had a great turn out this year thanks to Blaine's Parents hosting it at their house and due to LOTS of grandbabies.  We had a blast, overate and throughly enjoyed visiting with everyone.  It was a lot of  fun for the kids who got to play with all their cousins they hadn't seen in quite awhile.  I took way too many pics as usual, so excuse the 30  something pics.  I  just couldn't narrow them down! :)

First task of the day was to dye the eggs.
Cooper's favorite multi-tone egg.
The twins Tyler and Taylor got in on the action.
