Got Crawfish?

Saturday we had our annual crawfish boil 2009 at Nathan and Jills house in Louisiana! The crawfish were delicious, but the best part was seeing all of Blaine's family again. The boys ran around and had a fabulous time. Between the dogs, the crawfish and all of the excitement they were non-stop the whole time. Carter passed out for a 4 hour nap after playing with the dogs all morning, but he awoke to lots of family and fun. Both of the boys were more than eager to hold the crawfish, and showed no fear of their pinching claws. Everyone got plenty of baby time, passing twins Taylor and Tyler back and forth! They are too sweet, how could you not want to hold one of them? :) Food, Fun, Family and Crawfish! Could it get any better?

I want to be just like my big brother!

Carter watches EVERYTHING Cooper does! He will then mimic Cooper's actions and try to do exactly what he does. He looks up to Cooper with honest admiration, wanting to be just like him! I have captured a few moments with the camera, that like they say is worth a thousand words. Here are a few pictures, with stories to explain!
Carter loves Cooper's underwear! He watches Cooper putting them on and wants them on also. He takes his diaper off and brings Cooper's underwear to me saying choo-choo! He really like the Thomas the train ones so that is why he calls them choo-choo's. I usually have to put them over his diaper to satisfy him!
Cooper has a big boy bike and Carter would climb on and try to pedal even though his feet didn't even touch. After a couple of months of him trying to climb on Cooper's bike, I finally bought him his own trike! He LOVES it. He thinks he is just like Cooper. Also the hat he is wearing is for the same reason. Cooper has a hat and Carter wanted one also. He used to HATE hats but now after seeing Cooper with one he will wear it and not take it off for hours!
After making icing for some cookies the other day, I gave Cooper and Carter a beater to lick. Cooper immediately starting licking on the delicious icing, but Carter didn't know what to do with it, so he set it down and started playing with his toys. I told Cooper to go show him what it was and get him to taste it. It didn't take much convincing, after watching Cooper lick it and give a very enthusatic "YUM" Carter picked his beater back up and started licking the icing!

Life is Good!

I LOVE going to the beach and so do my kids, especially Carter. He has turned out to be the little water baby! Last week was a bit windy and the water was very cold, but that didn't stop Carter from jumping right in. I think he could have stayed out there all day. We invited some friends (Kaitlan and her girls) to come along and that made the day that much more fun! I live for Summer time! There is just something about laying out in the warm sun that lifts my soul. One of the reasons we picked Mobile for Blaine to do his Residency was being so close to the beach! It is so wonderful being a short 45 minutes away from warm sand and cool water. Life is good, life is good!!!!!

Easter 2009-Busy, busy, busy!

Easter was a whirlwind of activity for our family! On Friday I gave the boys haircuts (Carter's haircut was a mistake, but it is growing on me) and got everything packed and ready to go. As soon as Blaine got home from work we left Mobile and drove to my moms house in Mississippi where Blaine dropped me and the kids off and he headed on to Louisiana to help his cousin redo their flooring. Friday night my mom and I stayed up to 2:00 a.m. having a sewing party. I don't think I have had that much fun with her in awhile! THANKS MOM! Mom was sewing a dress for a historical celebration day and I had to finish up some baby gifts for a shower and the boys Easter outfits for Sunday. On Saturday I went with my mom to a cousins baby shower where we had a blast seeing family and eating great food! That night we played a game with Cooper helping him understand the real reason behind Easter and let him watch the Lamb of God. I think it gave him a better understanding of why we really celebrate Easter. Then Blaine returned to pick me and the boys up and we headed to his parents house to spend Easter night and day. All of his family was in so we got to see everyone inclucing babys Taylor and Tyler. This was the first time we have gotten to see them. They were so SWEET, I tried to get in as much loving as possible in the short time we were there! On Sunday we went to church in Blaine home ward, and got to see all sorts of people we had not seen in ages! It was great! We then spent the rest of Sunday eating good food, taking pictures, watching the kids Easter egg hunt and spending time with family! We had a wonderful Easter! I can't express how grateful I am for our Heavenly Father and for our Savior Jesus Christ who suffered and paid the price for our sins and was resurected so that we could be also. How wonderful a blessing we have been given!

Easter Egg Hunt PARTY!!

Last week I threw a Easter Egg Hunt Party for Cooper and Carter and their friends. The kids decorated Easter eggs, played pin the tail on the bunny, hunted for candy filled Easter eggs, and chowed down on sandwiches, apples and Easter cupcakes! It was so much fun! I love any good excuse to throw a fun party! I think the kids had a blast and the grown-ups got some time to chit-chat and chow down on Easter candy! Carter was a mess, all he wanted to do was eat chocolate and crack the hard boiled eggs!! :) Cooper on the other hand was an expert egg hunter and loved organizing his goodies from his eggs! Everyone had a great time and the kids were so much fun to watch enjoying the Easter activities!

Zoo Fun

Two weekends ago, Blaine had the week off to be in a friends wedding in Louisiana. Since I didn't know the people in the wedding really well I opted to spend the day with Blaines Aunt and Uncle and take the kids to the Baton Rouge zoo. We had so much fun. I was a little worried because I didn't have a stroller for Carter, but he took a good nap in the car on the way there and he had no problems keeping up and running around at the zoo. It ended up being a special day at the zoo with huge blow-up slides, face painting and other fun activities. Both boys had a blast and it was really great to get to spend some time with Blaine's family. Aunt Jane and Uncle Tom spoiled the boys rotten, they bought them lunch, stopped for ice cream and popsicles, took them on the train ride, and bought them little toys at the gift shop!! Thank you guys for taking us for a fun day!!
