YUMMY CAKE!!!

Ever since we saw a pumpkin cake in Wal-Mart, Cooper has been wanting to make a pumpkin cake. So finally I decided we would make one for our Ward Halloween party. We put Carter down for a nap, since this was a project Cooper really wanted to do with just him and mommy, and we started baking a chocolate cake. When the cake was cooled we made 3 colors of icing, orange, green and brown. This was Cooper's favorite part since I think he ate a gallon of icing in the process. We then cut the cake into a pumpkin shape and started icing. I let Cooper do alot of this until the very end when I shaped it up and put on the finishing touches. Cooper was so proud of his cake!! We took it to the party and it was a hit. I don't think there was one drop left!!!

Fair FUN!!!

The Gulf State Fair is in town this week and I just had to go! I mean, who can resist a footlong corndog and sweet cotton candy? My first attempt to go to the fair with the kids and some friends was a flop since I had the times wrong! :( But later that evening Blaine and I took the kids back for some family fun. Cooper was old enough this year to ride some rides by himself, so we let him ride a few and he talked about them for the rest of the night. The hilight of the night for Carter, since he stayed in the stroller the whole time, was a super sticky sucker and a bag of cotton candy! Boy was he a super mess by the time we got to the car!! The kids got to pet the goats at the petting zoo (one goat ate Cooper's whole bag of carrots, plastic and all :0) and watch a silly puppet show for free!! As for me and Blaine we chowed down on corndogs and lemonade, YUM!! Over all it was alot of fun, if you forget about the long lines and crowds of people!!!

This is for you Mrs. Sue!!!

Okay Mrs. Sue I hope you are checking my blog, because only you will appreciate this one!!! As some know, I LOVE working in the yard, but can't do it as much as I would like with the kids to tend to. So on Saturday Blaine had the day off and I begged him to let me work in the yard, with this wonderfully cool weather we have been having. Well, Blaine took the kids for the WHOLE day and let me spend all the time I wanted in the yard!!! He even helped me with a trip to Lowes to get mulch and flowers!! I mowed grass, weedeated, planted flowers, mulched beds, trimmed shrubs, and pulled up the tiny shrubs in the front of the house, that I never liked anyway! It was so rewarding when the day was done and I could look at how pretty the yard was! Blaine's mom (Mrs. Sue) taught me early on the reward that comes with yard work!! She has such lovely gardens and flowers and every time I go to see her I enjoy the fruits of her labors!!! So this post is for you Mrs. Sue, because I know you appreciate a long day working in the yard!!!

I just realized Blaine and Carter were in this picture. They were coming to inspect and give approval on the yard work!!!

Car rides with the boys!

The kids have been such hams lately while driving in the car! Cooper usually starts the laughter and then he gets Carter tickled and then it turns into a full blown screaming fest by both parties that ends with me laughing and telling them to quite down at the same time! I guess I should go back to when this started, because it honestly is my fault!! :) I decided that the kids would like it better if they sat next to each other instead of on opposite sides of the car and Blaine deemed it to be safer anyway! Well as soon as they were next to each other the touching, poking, and annoying each other began. Carter would, just to get a raise out of Cooper, throw his leg over the carseat into Cooper's lap and tap his foot on Cooper's leg. Cooper in return would throw Carter's leg back over the carseat and the process would continue over and over and over. I finally got tired of dealing with the drama that came with this so I threatened to move them back across from each other if they did not learn to be nice. Well this upset Cooper terribly and he proclaimed that he "loved sitting by Carter"! So now in attempts to stay next to Carter, when Carter does something to annoy him, Cooper starts tickling Carter, laughing at Carter, or does something extremely silly. They seem to have worked out their differences but now we seem to have a trveling funny act in the backseat. After all the drama and funny stuff is over they really do LOVE each other and it is great to see them enjoying each others company!!!

Being sick STINKS!!

Last weekend the kids and I went to my sister's house for General Conference (Blaine was working). We were just planning on staying one night and then going home the next morning, until I woke up Sunday night with the stomach virus! Thank goodness that I was at my sister's house, because I was MISERABLE and I could not take care of the kids. My sister and sister -in-law stepped in and watched the kids while I lay in the bed all day. THANK YOU so much to Shari and Autumn for helping me out!!!! I stayed an extra day at my sisters house until I felt good enough to drive home, but it wasn't until yesterday that I felt completly better. The kids seemed to have a GREAT time playing with their cousins though, in spite of the lack of mom in the mix.

Here are a few pic I took on Sunday before I got sick.
The boys LOVED playing with Aunt Shari's cats especially Carter! Even When I was sick I could here Shari and Carter playing with the cats to keep him occupied.
These pics are so funny, Carter and his cousin Adam were trying to escape out the door to see the cats and we caught them in the act, don't they look so innocent!!!:)

It's that time of year again!

Yesterday was October 1st and that means it's time for Halloween decorations!!! I LOVE Halloween and wait impatiently all year long for the beloved month of October. So yesterday we went to Wal-mart and picked up a few decorations and I let the boys help me put them up. Of course the boys had to have shirts to celebrate the occasion so they wore their spider shirts!! Cooper was being super silly and Carter was rolling with laughter watching him. Hope you are loving this time of year as much as we are!!
