$125.00 worth of Mardi Gras FUN!

We had a blast enjoying the Mardi Gras parades here in Mobile! The kids had so much fun trying to catch the throws, dancing to the music, and just hanging out with their friends! The day before Fat Tuesday my friend Jennifer and I took our kids to one of the more kid friendly parades. We got there early so we had plenty of time to find a perfect spot, eat our lunch and just let the kids play. We had such a great time! The parade was really good and the kids got alot of throws to take home. We then loaded everybody up and headed home. Well as we got closer to where our cars were susspose to be we realized they were missing. In total confusion we asked a cop where in the world would our cars be? The answer to our question, was not what we wanted to hear. Our cars had been towed for parking on the street. We had to ask a random lady to help one of us get to the tow place so that we could pick up one of the cars and then drive back to get everybody else. It cost us $125.00 per car to get our cars out of lock up (by the way we parked on the street to save $10.00 at the parking lot)LOL!!! :) When we finally got everybody loaded up and got back to the tow place to pick up the other car we were exausted, exasperated(at the lack of help from the cops), and laughing at the humor in the whole situation. So we took a picture in front of the tow building to remember the Mardi Gras parade that cost us $125.00. After spending $125.00, I had to get the most for my money so on Fat Tuesday my sister-in-law came down and we went to the parades again, this time we made sure we parked in a tow-free zone!!!
Chowin down on some Moon Pies!

The lovely vehicle claims building where the cops were SO HELPFUL(sarcastically said)!!!

Gotta eat some MOON PIES if you are going to party in Mobile!

D-O-G spells dog!

Cooper is so excited to go to Kindergarten this year! Every morning while Carter is in the high chair eating breakfast, Cooper makes sure we have "SCHOOL TIME"! We learn new words, practice writing the words, review colors, letter sounds, shapes and numbers. He loves it! His favorite part is that he gets a treat if he remembers his new word for the day and writes it correctly! Everyday couple of days we add a new word to his list of words. We tape them to the side of the cabinet so he can see them throughout the day. Every day I mix up the list and he has to read the words, then we make a sentence out of the words and he learns to read the new sentence. He thinks it is all a game and really loves doing it. If I forget to do it in the morning he makes a point to remind me to not forget "SCHOOL TIME"!

Have I lost my mind?

Okay, so Blaine is going to lose it if he comes home one more time to find me painting or re-decorating something again on a whim. Seriously though, I can't help it!! :) I get these crazy ideas in my head and can't stop till I have seen them through. The other weekend Nathan and Jill were coming at around 4:00in the evening and I started painting the bathroom at 12:00 noon. Blaine came in from work with the kids running around crazy, the house a mess and me in the bathroom trying to finish the paint job! Blaine proceeds to remind me that I have lost my mind and that Nathan and Jill will be here in an hour. Calmly I tell him it is all right, I have it taken care of. Well needless to say, I did get it all taken care, well almost all of it. But it turned out fine, we had a great weekend and I had a freshly painted bathroom! So here you go, the pics of the brilliance behind the madness! Seriously, let me know if you think I have lost my mind? LOL!!! :)

I love the mocha brown walls, (Blaine dosen't care for them)! I sewed all the ribbon onto the towels and shower curtain and embroidered the word bath (to match the letters on the wall) onto the towels. I used the ribbon to make a picture hanging for the other wall and reused the letters that had previously been in the bathroom. Yea I know I can't make up my mind!! :) The walls look darker in the pictures, and the ribbon has polka dots on it if you can't tell.

Carter AGAIN!

I know most of my posts lately have been about Carter, but he is just becoming such a fun, silly, funloving, handsome little boy! Blaine and I have been wondering where our baby has gone. Lately he has been looking and acting so much like a big boy! I guess it all began with his first hair cut, when I finally broke down and cut off his curl! It about broke my heart and Coopers too. Cooper kept saying "oh no mom, don't cut off his long piece!!" :)

Well here it is, his one and only curl! GONE!!! :( Along with the hair cut he has grown a couple of inches, thinned out a bit and started saying alot of new words. My baby is growing up!! He is just adorable though and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Dosen't he look so much older with his new hair cut?

Spaghetti Night!

Carter LOVES spaghetti for dinner! I think it is his favorite meal. He will usually eat two helpings and still want more. He is very independant and wants to eat it all by himself, hence the HUGE mess. But he is just too cute all covered in red spaghetti sauce, so I don't mind the clean up! Isn't he such a cute mess of spaghetti?
