Carters silly face!

Carter has always made crazy faces, even as a baby. Well lately he has come up with a new one. He likes to get your attention, do the crazy face and then start laughing. He then wants you to start laughing, which in turn makes him do the face even more. The picture dosen't do it justice. He sucks his top lip up to his nose and holds it there. It is so HILARIOUS! He truely has turned into my SILLY baby!

My stress reliever!

Just wanted to post some of the things I have been making lately! I have been on this crazy sewing/embroidery streak where I have really wanted to make things(I think it has become my stress reliever from the daily grind with the kids)! So in the evenings when the kids go to bed I go to my little sewing nook and start working away. Anyway just wanted to share, hope you enjoy!

Matching pants and appliqued shirts! Aren't they too cute!Cooper dosen't really like to look like Carter anymore, so this may be the last of their matchy look!

A purse for myself!:) I saw one similiar online that I liked, so I made my own pattern and used trial and error as I went. (believe me ALOT of error) :)

A bag for a friends B-day!! The bag was pre-made, I just embroidered the name and added the ribbon.Onesies and burp rags for my twin nephews! We haven't been able to go see them yet, but maybe soon!

Decorating for cheap!

Lately I have been bummed about some of the blank walls in our house. But, I haven't wanted to spend alot of money for wall decorations. So, I waited until Hobby Lobby had their wall decorations 50% off and off we went looking for good deals! Thank goodness Carter fell asleep in the car and then slept in the buggy for the whole time we were in the store, or my shopping trip may not have turned out so well! Anyway as I was looking around I found these large letters that I thought I could decopauge with scrapbooking paper to match the kids bathroom colors. So at a $1.25 a letter and 50 cents a piece of paper I got the whole project for the bathroom for $7.00! Then I found this cute sign for the laundry room 50% off of $20.00, so $10.00 for the laundry room! Then a friend recommend this site online to order these cute vinyl letters for cheap. So the boys wall only cost $15.00! (Hobby Lobby has the vinyls also for about the same price when on sale, but I had already ordered from online)I was so excited to find such fabulous finds and LOVE how they brighten up the rooms!

My little Artist!

Cooper LOVES to draw, color and paint and I am more than willing to let him, but we have one rule he MUST obey when he is finished with his art. Cooper must put all art supplies away so that Carter can't find them and make a mess! Cooper is really good about this most of the time, but lately he has been lazy about putting his markers away and I have gotten on to him numberous of times about it. Well finally the inevadable happened. Carter got ahold to the markers and made a beautiful masterpiece on my bedroom wall!! Cooper came to me with the look of shear panic on his face and said "Mom, don't be mad, I love you VERY much!". At that point I already knew what had happened and it took all I had not to bust out laughing. First of all because I knew they were washable markers (Thank you Crayola) and secondly because Cooper was seriously panic stricken because he thought he was in trouble (poor baby)! Well I let Cooper explain what had happened and then I let him in on a little secret (the markers were washable)! The look of relief that came over him when he wiped the first mark away with the rag was priceless. Cooper had to clean up the mess and have the markers taken away for the day, but he didn't seem to mind since the punishment that he had thought up in his head had been far worse!
Cooper cleaning up the mess. And yes folks, the washable markers come completly clean off of walls!!!!!

A warm, glowing fire!

I love having a fireplace! It is so warm and cozy!! We had a fireplace in our old house, but it was wood burning which was too much hassle to light, so it never got used. But here we have a gas fireplace, so we just press the button and presto we have a nice warm fire! We honestly haven't had too many cold days here in Mobile, so there hasn't been any need to turn the fire on. But, Sunday afternoon it was a bit chilly and so I decided we needed to turn it on!! Blaine complained at first, because he felt on need for it, but soon enough he was sitting in the living room along with everyone else enjoying the comforting heat! There is just something about warm, flickering flames because before I knew Cooper and Blaine were fast asleep! Carter was really good around the fire! He kept saying "HOT" and running away. He never got within a couple feet of it. Anyway, having a fireplace is such a silly thing to be grateful for, but it made my afternoon so much nicer!!

Disney World or BUST!!!

No, we are not going to Disney World, but my brother and his family are! They have 3 girls who love Minnie and all things Princess, so I volunteered to help my sister-in-law make some shirts for the girls to wear to Disney World. I just had to share, because they turned out so ADORABLE!!! She wanted bows also, so I tried my hand at some bows and was amazed at how easy they were to make. Hopefully they will get some VERY CUTE pics of them at Disney World wearing my designs!!

A Lazy Afternoon

The weather is so perfect here right now! A slight breeze with warm scattered sun has made our afternoons to good to not enjoy! So camera in hand we set off to Dauphin Island to enjoy the cool sand and salty breeze! It was such a perfect day! Not only did I get to spend time with my whole family, but the kids had so much fun running in the sand and finding shells! Days like this don't happen too often, so I just try to enjoy every moment and be ever thankful for all the gracious blessings my Heavenly Father has given our family!

Christmas, Family and Fun!

Okay Since I have been too busy having fun over the Holidays to blog, I thought I would do a fun little poem about our family during the week of Christmas!!

Cooper was sleeping long past eight,
Daddy, Mommy and Carter had to wake him because they couldn't wait!
When he awoke, what did he see?
A brand new bike under the tree!
Could he ride it, no one knows?
Oh don't worry, he got on and rode just like the pros!
Carter got a Pat the rocket, his favorite toy!
Can you see the Christmas Joy!!
The Grab Nabber was Coopers favorite thing!
Who would have thought that is what Santa would bring?
Thomas the train is well loved!
He gets to sleep in Carters arms encased in a big HUG!
Off to Grandmas house for more Christmas fun,
ALL the Britts were there, together as one.

Emily thought Cooper was a little bit crazy,
Why do boys open presents with their teeth, is it faster maybe? (Carter and his Great Grandma)
Granny loves her grandkids, they are truely her treasures!
She is such a wonderful women of upstanding measures! Then off to Gigi's and Papas house, us Britts are always on the run,
Santa Clause was there, to pass out presents and lots of fun!
(We LOVE you dad!)
We finally made it back home, with MORE presents in tow!
Seriously these kids think Christmas will never slow!
A Microphone and guitar for making their own Britt Brothers band!
Can you see Cooper's mouth? He was really rocking out, almost more than mom could stand!
Grandma sent us a really neat rocketship set!
Cooper still has not tired of playing with it yet.
But wait the fun isn't over, we need to travel some more,
Off to Auntie Janes to see what fun they have in store!
Cooper got to see Kaia, who has grown up so much,
Can you believe it had been a year since we had been in touch!
Carter and Buddy became fast friends,
Cooper also loves Buddy to no ends.
(Cooper has a stuffed dog blanket, named Buddy (after Buddy) that he sleep with every night)
Aunt Jane loves to read to Cooper and he dosen't mind,
She is so loving, happy, gracious and kind!
(Aunt Jane and Uncle Tom, Thank y'all for being so wonderful to our family)
Well I guess that brings our Christmas fun to an END,
Happy New Year to all and many warm wishes we send!!
Disclamer: This was spread out over a week, so don't think we did all of this in a day.
Plus Blaine surprised me with a new camera, hence all the pictures!! :)
