Life in a nutshell

Since I have been absent from my blog for so long, here's what The Britt Family has been up too, for the last several months, in a condensed version! Enjoy!
Goodbye, Mobile AL!
Hello, Wesson MS, or if your an LDS church folk hello, RedStar, but if your just a country local hello, LoydStar! Confusing huh? Lol :)
For several weeks after we moved, until all of our stuff arrived, we slept on air mattresses and painted room after room after room. For the first time Lucy finally has her own room! :)
Soon after we moved Blaine started working and officially started his Med-Peds practice. He is enjoying being his own boss and loves getting to practice medicine within the community that he grew up in.
Then the real fun began! Within a two week time span, Lucy turned one....
and Cooper turned eight!
Cooper got baptized....
and started third grade!
Carter started Kindergarten

and a few days later turned five!

NOW...
Cooper is doing well in third grade even though he hates homework and tests. His new school has been a bit tougher than his last school and we have had to study a lot more than before, but he is sticking with it and making all A's and B's. Since moving here Cooper and Emily have become best buds. They beg each day to visit each other and never seem to get enough play time together. They love exploring the outside area at Grandmas and can spend hours collecting rocks, bugs and " treasures"!
Lucy just keeps growing and growing and has started to say a few first words and signs! Her first words have been bug, up, uh-oh, and eye. She signs dog, milk, eat, bye-bye and bird. She has developed quite the dramatic and stubborn personality when she dosen't get her way. But on the other hand when she does get her way she is all smiles, hugs and kisses!
Carter is loving Kindergarten with a few behavior mishaps every now and then. He tested at a second grade level academically, so we were worried he would be bored with Kindergarten work, but surprisingly he thoroughly enjoys the easy work and loves to get finished first so he can help his classmates with their work. His teacher has been wonderful in dealing with his behavior problems and has been great in finding ways for Carter to move ahead with his reading and math skills.
So until my next blog post, enjoy the wonderful weather and know all is well withThe Britt Family!
Happy Fall Y'all!!

The happiest place on earth

We had a BLAST at Disney World this summer! The kids talk everyday about going back. It was definitely one of our favorite vacations ever! We LOVE Disney!!!!
FYI: Even though Carter looks sad in most of his pics,I promise he is having a blast! He is going through a weird smile phase! :)

Summer Catchup

Oh my, where to begin? This summer has not gone exactly as planned but despite all the stress we have survived and all is well with the Britt family! This summer has been a roller coaster of a ride.
We spent the first 3 weeks at my moms while Blaine finished up his last weeks of Residency. During this time we were trying to get a trailer, to put on a piece of land near Blaine's parents house, but when the trailer fell through we had to start looking at other options. While stressing about finding rental housing in Brookhaven and Blaine finishing up Residency and getting everything set up for his practice, we managed to finally get our house in Mobile listed and up for sale. Wish us luck that we get an offer on the house.

To celebrate Blaine finishing Residency and to get away from the stress for a bit we took a surprise trip to Disney World! We had so much fun and the boys made some awesome memories!! It was the best week ever and we were super sad to come home to reality (more pics to come).

Blaine is now officially in Brookhaven working and the kids and I are in Mobile waiting for the movers to pack us up. As soon as we get packed up we will be moving into a rental house near Blaine's parents. We are so ready to finally be settled and not be in limbo anymore.

Blaine, we are so proud of you for all of your hard work and accomplishments! Now it's time to move on and start a new chapter of the Britt family journey!

Family pic

I have had the worst luck with pictures lately. I havent been able to get a good family pic since Lucy was born. Our camera broke awhile back and we aren't going to splurge and get a new one until Blaine is finished with Residency. That leaves me with my iPad, cell phone, or really old point and shoot to take pictures. Needless to say my attempts at a family pic up until this point have failed. Well, fast forward to last week. A friend from church wanted a picture of our family for a farewell project she was working on. I told her we didn't have any, but that I would find a way to get one to her. Long story short, I asked a friend who had invited us over for dinner if she would mind taking a few pics for us with her camera. She tried, I tried, we all tried to get Everyone to be still and look at the same time. We almost managed except for Carter! He is just a non-stop, over active, high strung type of kid, but we love him anyway!!!!! :) So here you go, our family pic after months of trying! I think it captures us very well! lol :) And yes, that is my husband under all that hair. Residency has been a bit tough on him ( and me) lately!! I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family!!
