Soccer STUD!

Cooper is playing soccer for the first time this fall.  The first few practices were hard for him because he really didn't understand the rules and he is a lot smaller then the rest of his team mates (we're hoping he hits a growth spurt soon).  So, in the afternoon we have been practicing and he has gotten a lot better.  They had their first game last Saturday and he woke up telling me he was sick and that he didn't want to go to the game. He finally confessed he was scared he wouldn't play well.  After a mighty pep talk and a promise of a pancake breakfast after the game he decided  to get ready and  go.  Needless to say the little stud did awesome! He scored one goal while playing offense and blocked two while playing defense.  The smile on his face was priceless.  He hustled hard and even though he is not the best kicker, he can run fast and steal the ball.  I was so proud of him. I think his confidence grew ten fold after the game!

Isn't he a little STUD in his uniform?!  The next David Beckham if you ask me.  But hey I am a bit partial.:)

My Buddy!

Now that school is back is session for Cooper, Carter has once again became my little buddy!  He loves having mommy all to himself and I don't mind one bit. We have lots of snuggle time/play time and I love having alone time with him to read and talk. I also love the  hour and a half of quiet time I get while he takes  a nap. :) Just one of the many perks of a stay at home mommy! LOL!!  Most days we don't  really  go anywhere, we just play outside  in  the sprinkler and kiddie pool, eat popsicles on the front porch and watch the cars go by, read books and color together or just snuggle and watch cartoons.  I remember when Cooper was this age and we use to do the same thing.   He was my little buddy then too! I still try to find one on one time with Cooper, but now that he is in school our time together seems limited. I am just thankful I had so much time to spend with Cooper before he started school and now have the same time with Carter. I truely love this age with my kids.  It is so fun to watch their personalities develop and to be able to help them learn and grow!  My babies are growing up too fast.  I am trying to cherish every moment with them!
He's three now and is so excited to show you his fingers to prove his age!

Carter told me for months prior to his birthday that he wanted to have a blue race car party, so mom couldn't disapoint!
His favorite gift from his birthday!  He loads it up with toys and books everytime  we go anywhere.  When he saw that  HIS name was on it he was super excited, since he usually gets Coopers hand me downs with Coopers name on it.
His outfit of choice lately! He loves "cool" underwear and  rain boots!
Everyday he asks  me to fill the little pool so we can play in the water!  He truely loves the water! He  dosen't care if it be bath water, pool water, beach water, rain water or just playing in the water hose. He loves it all!

Look out 1st grade here comes Cooper!!

Monday was Cooper's first day of First Grade!  He was super excited when he realized that he had two friends from last year and a friend from church in his class. He absolutely loves his teacher and his classroom.  It looks like it is going to be a fun year!

Look who's 6!

For Cooper's 6th  Birthday this year we planned a surprise vacation/birthday.  Cooper knew we were going on a trip for his birthday but he didn't know where or what we were doing. We traveled 11 hours  to Branson, MO to a resort/waterpark. When we got there Blaine occupied the kids while I set up a birthday party in the hotel room and we had a hotel birthday party!  The resort had an outdoor and indoor waterpark along with outside pools, a fun zone where you could play games and mini golf and eat pizza, a music hall where they held their entertainment shows, a candyshop/fudge and frozen custard factory, and a main hall where they had the restaurants and gift shops. It was so nice just being able to park and check into our hotel and then be within walking distance to everything without getting back in the car.  Cooper couldn't believe his eyes when he saw all the things to do.  At one point he asked "Is all of this for MY birthday?". The boys had so much fun and we crammed evey minute of our three days there with something to do. Even when Blaine would give out and would need a nap the boys and me would head back to the waterpark by ourselves and stay till dark. Carter was so exausted when night time would come. He would fall asleep instantly without any fussing. On  the last  day we were going to the "Amazing Pets" show before we headed out and all Carter could say was "I ready to get in my carseat and go to sleep". I think he slept most of the 8 hour ride home to Blaine's moms house. When we  got to Blaine's moms house Cooper couldn't stop talking non-stop about all the fun he had had.  I think he had a FABULOUS 6th birthday! Happy Birthday Cooper!CAUTION there is going to be ALOT of pics, I just couldn't narrow them down.
Spider man birthday party in the hotel! The kids thought it was the best thing ever.
Ready and excited to go to the waterpark.
Hot tub with dad,
and mom!
Cooper was scared to death to do the BIG  tube slide but I finally convinced  him to try it and then he wouldn't stop going down it.
Carter was cautious going  down the slides, Cooper on the other hand tried  to figure out  every way possible to go down the  slides.
Cooper made  some friends  in the pool and was throwing the football with them.
I though this was a cool action shot of  him throwing the ball.
Love O Meter. I was deemed lousy, sorry Blaine!
Carter found this little dog in the gift shop and wouldn't quit loving on it.
Like a kid in a candy store, literally!!!!
They had these motorcycle shows everyday and the kids loved going to them.
I don't know if you can tell but there  is a guy in  there on a motorcycle.
Random hotel pic
Outside the hotel
Arcade game
Black light mini golf. Carter LOVED this.
He really kept trying to hit the balls in and would get really  mad if he missed.
Seriously exausted!!!
More hotel pics
Waiting for  the "Amazing Pets" show.
Dosen't Blaine looke excited to see a bunch of cats and dogs perform?  The boys loved it though!!

Sweet Carter

I just wanted to write down some things that Carter says that I don't want to forget. He has become such a sweet and silly boy talking with a vocabulary that is well beyond  his age. Slowly we have watched  him start  to pronounce certain words correctly much to our sadness, because it means he is growing up. But  he  still has plenty of cute phrases and words that I cherish everytime I hear him say them!
First just let me say, this kid dosen't know how to whisper to save his life. Everything he says comes out extra loud for all to hear. I have tried  to teach him to talk quietly, but honestly I don't think his brain knows anything but LOUD!

"Wes" (his word for yes, sadly he has started saying it correctly now)
"Can we bring my munch box?" (lunch box)
"Have a GREAT day" (talking to his papa or daddy when they leave for work)
"Did you lose your balance?" (asking his cousin why he fell off his tricycle)
"Best friends" (his favorite phrase to say to Blaine and I)
"Best water  friends" (The other day in the pool he changed the phrase up a bit)
"Big hugs and kisses, little hugs and kisses" ( his night time rountine before he goes to bed)
"No, thank you" ( his reply to anything he dosen't want)
"What did you dream about?" (Every morning we go through this rountine of  what we dreamed about that night)
"Is that Drew? or "Is that baby Bryson?" He is obsessed with babies Drew(cousins Nathan and Jill's baby) and Bryson(friends from church baby).  Every picture we see of a baby he asks if it is Drew or Bryson.  Every baby we see in the store he is sure it is Drew or Bryson. He LOVES to look at pictures of Drew and Bryson on facebook/blog and gets really mad when I click off off the pictures.  The funny thing is he calls Drew just "Drew" and Bryson is "baby Bryson" even though they are similiar in age.
"pinger" (finger) "pone" (phone) All "f" sounds come out as "p" sounds
"Sis. Allen give me goldfish and  fruit snacks?" (He asks all  the time about Sis. Allen, his nursery leader.  He really loves her and  it is because of her that he now LOVES nursery)
"Enough talking already" (he screamed  this out at church during one of the speakers, LOL)
And lastly he has the HUGEST/LOUDEST laugh of all time. (just see pic below)

Embrace the Camera

I saw on another blog were they were  having an "Embrace the Camera" picture blog.  It is where all of us mothers who hide behind the camera on most occasions should take pictures with the kids and enjoy the wonderful memories captured in time!  As I was looking through some pictures from the Fourth of July I found this picture someone had snapped.  Neither boys are really looking and I have my oh so fake smile, but it really captured the moment and I just love this picture.  We were having a program at my moms to celebrate the Fourth and the boys had dressed up as indians to do a little skit.  They were super excited to dress up!  But this is where the picture comes in.  By the time we  had gotten everyone dressed and over to the pavilion, Carter was on the verge of falling asleep and had his extreme grumpy face on, Cooper had gotten over the excitement of  dressing up like an indian and was daydreaming in his own world and me I was still trying to get them excited so we could perform the skit.  End result, Carter fell asleep, Cooper was too embarssed to do the skit and I smiled my fake smile and got up and performed the indian chant as fast as possible! Like I said memories captured in time!!! :)
