Laundry, dishes, kids oh my!

Ok, I'm starting to get a bit nervous about having a fourth child. Going from two to three kids didn't seem like much of a difference for me but for some reason going from three to four is freaking me out. I think because with three I am still able to manage to clean and keep everything orderly like my OCD self likes it, but barely. With one kid it was easy to clean, shop, make dinner, wash clothes and organize. With two kids it was still manageable but I had my days when things went undone. With three kids I keep things clean and orderly, but closets and clothes and dishes keep me non-stop busy. I fight them each day until finally I just give up and things get so bad that I go into my OCD mode and clean till I can't move. I am fearing with four kids that I WILL have to let some things go and just get over my compulsion to have my house a certain way. As a child, with 5 siblings, I distinctly remember climbing up a mountain (a literal mountain) of dirty clothes for fun. I also remember my mom being so embarrassed when people would walk through her laundry room. So I'm assuming that having a dirty, disorganized house is a right of passage for any mom with multiple children. I should just embrace it and realize it is raising my children, not the perfect house, that is most important. If only I could learn to turn off my OCD brain every time I see those finger prints on the windows or the toys thrown across the floor. Oh well, I think when the baby comes I am going to give up completely and maybe, just maybe I will have a cleaning fairy that will drop by occasionally and pay me a visit. :)

Baby names and haircuts

This time around picking the baby's name was an easy choice. We've always liked my pawpaws name (we changed the spelling a bit) but it never fit right. With this pregnancy (after we found out it was a boy) it just seemed to fit perfectly. So here you go baby #4 will be.....

Lathen Sean Britt

Moving on to a different topic, Coop got his long over due short haircut. We go back and forth with his hair. He likes to let it grow out and keep it longer and then he gets sick of it and wants to cut it all off. It's kinda fun to see the difference a haircut makes.

Caught Red Handd

Miss Lou loves to get into the boys stuff while they are at school. I usually don't mind but the markers and crayons are off limits without me to help her. So whenever she sees that I am busy and not paying attention the first thing she does is climb onto the art table, pop open the Tupperware full of markers and have herself some fun! :) I caught her in action and walked upon her without her noticing. Poor baby got so upset when I told her No No. :(

Oh, hey mom.
I wasn't doing anything.

I'm sorry!

Love Day!

Valentine's Day was a lot of fun this year with Carter getting in on the card making action. I love for the boys to make their own cards instead of buying the store bought ones. Thanks to Pinterest being creative is a bit easier then in the past. Teacher gifts that the boys helped me put together.
The boys working hard on their Valentine cards!

Coop's Star Wars Lego Valentines.

Glow sticks for light sabers. How cool is that?

Carter's bug jar Valentine's. He insisted he only put frogs and lizards in his bug jars! :)

Peanut butter cookies with heart chocolate centers for all the boys classmates! Yummo!!!

Hope you had a great day and told that someone special that you love them!

I feel good today!

There's nothing as great as feeling like you're still alive and kicking after dealing with a horrible couple of days with strep. I don't know what it is about me and strep but every year (sometimes twice a year)it rears its ugly head and completely knocks me off my feet for at least 2 days. This time around it seemed worse than usual. I'm not sure if it was because I am pregnant and can't take any meds except Tylenol or maybe I'm just getting older and more of a wimp. ;) Literally I didn't get out of the bed for two days and two nights except to use the restroom, go to the Dr. to get a shot of antibiotics, and to pick the boys up from school (I barely could drive I was shaking and groaning so). When the boys got in the car Cooper looked at Carter and said "sit and be quite, mom looks real sick". I didn't hear a peep the rest of the way home! :) Thank goodness for my wonderful husband who came home early Friday and relieved me of any duties whatsoever and just let me wallow in my fever induced hallucinations without Lucy climbing all over me crying and saying, "milk, up mama, milk" over and over again. I'm just Thanking my Heavenly Father that today I feel so much better and was able to take care of the kids and go to church!!

Happy Fat Tuesday!!

I am super bummed that I can't be in Mobile, AL to celebrate Mardi Gras this year! Maybe a homemade king cake and a little Mardi Gras Bunco will make it better! :)

Obsessed

I'm a little bit obsessed with making these fabric covered magnetic boards. After making one for my kitchen I decided Lucy needed one for the playroom to hold all her magnets that cover my fridge. I used two dry erase/magnetic boards (office supply dept. in Wal-mart) and sprayed them with spray glue. Then I covered them with cute fabric and stapled down the fabric on the back. So Easy, but mega cute! Now I won't step on Lucy's magnets a million times a day while going to the fridge.

After taking the pictures of the playroom I realized I may be a bit obsessed with organizing. One of the things I love about this rental house is that it has a huge bonus room that we use as a playroom. I love sitting on the floor while the boys are at school organizing and moving things around. Is that weird? :)

Sleepy head

Carter went missing one day while we had a few friends over. After searching the whole house and yard Blaine and I started to get worried. Finally I started checking under beds and in closets, thinking he may be hiding from us. Too my surprise when I opened the hall closet there was Carter fast asleep.

Complicated...

As we were driving home from dropping Cooper off at Cub Scouts Carter got chatty. He out of the blue said "Mom, things are going to get complicated!" Stifling a giggle I asked him to explain why things are going to get complicated. He replied "With another baby for you to take care of you will have to feed the baby, then feed Lucy, then get us dressed for school, then feed us and make our lunches. Then the baby will probably cry and Lucy will start crying and we will need someone to bring us to school. It's just going to get complicated!" I could hardly contain my laughter. I LOVE my thoughtful boy!!!!!

IT'S A......

BOY!

I was really hoping for a girl, but we are just glad he looks healthy and all is well!

Poor Lucy, she will be the girl stuck in the middle of 3 boys.

It seems we may escape having another July/August baby (all 3 kids birthdays happen within two weeks at the end of July/ beginning of August) My ultrasound showed me at 20 weeks, giving me a due date of June 26th. Yea!!! We would love a June baby!

Cute toes! We were able to see both feet and all his toes very clearly. :)
