Way to go Cooper!!

I am so PROUD of Cooper!  He finally overcame one of his biggest fears.  On Saturday I finally convinced him to take his training wheels off  his bike and try riding it without the training wheels.  He was SO scared and whined and  whimpered  at first, but as I pumped him full of you can do it, soon he started to catch on and was riding for short distances by himself.  Of course he still wanted mom to follow right behind with a hand out just in case he fell.  It was one of those proud mom moments! :)  I think I actually yelled really loud "Oh my gosh Cooper, you did it all by your self" the first time he did it by himself. All  the neighbors were watching and could hear me down the street! LOL :) He has been so afraid of riding without training wheels, but I knew he was ready.  It was just convincing  him that he was  ready! When Blaine got home we had to show dad and again get all excited for Cooper. I got Blaine to work with him a little bit so I could get a video of Cooper riding his bike. Blaine then took Cooper to the gas station to pick out a treat for doing so well (my kids LOVE going to the gas station to get treats)! Now as  his confidence grows, each time we go outside and practice, he is getting braver and going further and further by himself. He still needs me to stand by and watch and make sure he  dosen't fall, but now he officially has bragging rights  to his friends at school.  That was the main reason he was wanting  to learn was because some of his friends at  school already had learned to ride their bikes and he didn't want to be left behind.  Sometimes peer pressure can be a good  thing! ;) Now if Cooper can only conquor his fear of swimming so easily............

Silly Faces!

We have had some gorgeous days lately with  plenty of sunshine and cool afternoon breezes!  The boys have been taking full advantage of outside time.  Yesterday they put their swim shorts on and headed outside to play as soon as Cooper got home from school.  I think they played all afternoon till dinner time without a fight or quarrel. When I tried to take a picture of them playing they decided to give me their best silly faces!! I seriously love these crazy boys!
Carter silly  face. I  think he was growling like a lion.
Cooper silly face. He was trying to wink at me.
Cooper showed Carter how to make a "REAL" silly  face!

How fast time flies!

I feel like time flies by so fast when it comes to my kids.  It seems like they are so little and then in an blink  of an eye they have  grown a couple of inches and are talking like grown-ups.  It  makes me so sad to see them grow up.  I really try to enjoy every minute of time with them and truely cherish all the little moments. Having this year with Carter all to myself has been great,  but on the other hand  I feel like Cooper is growing up so fast.  I am having a hard time believing he is almost done with Kindergarten and will be going to first grade in August.  First grade seems  like the big  step in growing up. I guess lately I have just been realizing that time dosen't stand still, no matter how much you wish it would.  I try to focus on the wonderful things that come with your kids growing up.  Blessing and cherished moments all of their own.  I know they will eventually grow up but I hope I can cherish and enjoy them while they are still little.  Here are  a few pictures that lately have made sad and proud all at the same time!
Cooper came home from school hungry, so I told him to let me finish what I was doing and then I would make him a sandwich.  When I finished up and went to the kitchen, I found him making his own sandwich all by himself.  I think that was the first time he had ever done that.  He was concentrating so hard, I don't think he even saw me take his picture.
Carter has finally refused to use the baby swing anymore.  He says "I am big boy"! So I took the baby swing down and replaced it with another regular swing.  He was so excited to  have a swing like Cooper's.

Laundry ....a never ending story.

Just one of the many piles of  clean clothes waiting to be put  away!!
Not much going on around here lately, just yard work and housework. I really don't mind either, except for the laundry. GRRRR.....  It seems as if I can  never catch up. No matter how much I wash and dry there is always another load. Given that I only have two kids, you think that it should be managable. But seriously it's not! How in the world do you moms with more kids keep it under control?  I'm pretty good about washing and drying but then it gets piled high on the couch waiting and waiting for someone to put it away! LOL :) Most days we end up digging  through the huge pile looking for our clothes in hopes that they aren't too wrinkled!  I think my problem comes in that I HATE folding/hanging the clothes and putting  them away.  It dosen't help that Carter tends to go through four or more outfits a day. Everytime I turn around he is  covered in something that requires a clothes change!  Also Blaine goes through alot of clothes.  He has his work clothes (I am constantly washing scrubs) and then he comes home and changes into regular clothes. Some days I think I totally have it under control, but within the week It has all piled up again. Any advice that would make laundry easier to handle would be greatly appreciated!
At least I found some funny quotes that will give you something  to think about next time you are doing the laundry!  Enjoy! :)

Now they show on commercials how detergents take out bloodstains, a pretty violent image there.  I think if you've got a T-shirt with a bloodstain all  over it, maybe laundry isn't  your biggest problem. Maybe you should get rid of the body before you do the wash. ~Jerry Seinfeld~

Marriage is about the most expensive way for the average man to get his laundry done. ~Burt Reynolds~

I believe you should live each day as if it is your last, which is why I don't have any clean laundry, come on, who wants to wash clothes on the last day of their life? ~Teenager, age 15~
