Recent pics of the kids!

I have not had much time lately to blog, so it has been awhile since I posted. I just wanted to share some recent pictures of the kids during our everyday activities. Blaine is working nights now so we are trying to stay out of the house as much as possible and let him sleep, so most pictures are of us enjoying the outdoors. Coopers new thing to do when we go outside is to cloud watch. He loves to find funny animals in the clouds. His latest cloud animal inventions have been dinosaur doggies, monster pigs and dragon horses. Such an imagination that kid has. Carter loves being outside also. He recently has been very fascinated with the grass. He will grab handfulls and pull it out of the ground and then throw it down and do it again. So I guess he will be to blame for the bare spots in out yard! :) Anyway here are a few pic, hope you enjoy!

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY CARTER!!

Well my baby is on his way to becoming a toddler!! On August 7, he turned 1 year old! I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. So much has happened and so much has changed this past year. We have watched Carter cry, roll over, scoot, crawl, babble, walk, run, climb and say his first words(bye-bye, uh-oh, da-da and up)!! All of his milestones have flown by with joyous celebration. So turning one was no different. For his birthday I sewed him a Jon-Jon with a cupcake applique and took pictures of his cute one year old self!!!! I made him a Baby Einstein cake and we had a small party with balloons, cake, goldfish, and lots of fun!! Carter loved the cake and candle until we started singing and then he burst out into tears(he was not a fan of our singing). So we moved on to presents, where he had more fun playing with the wrapping paper than the presents. We then tried singing again and let him eat his cake which at first had no appeal to him, until he tasted the icing, he then stuffed as much into his mouth as possible!!!!! :) It was such a fun party, I just can't believe he is one already!!

Cooper's new haircut!

Cooper has been complaining about his hair being hot and wet when we go outside to play. So I asked him if he wanted to cut it short. His first reaction was no, mom I got in trouble last time I did that. So I explained to him if mommy cut it, it was okay. Even though I was a bit terrified to cut his long hair, I knew it would feel alot better in this 90 degree weather, so I gave him a new short hair cut, and he loved it, at least at first. When I held him up to the bathroom mirror to see he said very loud, "Oh, no I liked my big hair better". Well, we then styled it with daddy's gel and he seemed very happy to be just like daddy!!

The Exploreum

Touching a baby alligator!

We have been trying to take advantage of Blaine's days off, since they are few and far between. We recently went to the Exploreum and had alot of fun. They had a frog exhibit, with snakes and alligators that was just perfect for Cooper. They also had a play area for the little ones that Carter enjoyed very much. I think Blaine enjoyed it as much as Cooper and Carter did. They had a blast trying out all of the weird science exhibits. I was just thankful for a fun day with my husband and kids!!

rub-a-dub-dub, two boys in a tub!!

The boys LOVE bath time, and so do I because it is that much closer to bed time!:) When Carter hears the water running he practically dives into the bath with clothes on but Cooper the more cautious, always says put Carter in first and then I will come. He always has one last toy he needs to play with before bath time. But, once they get in the fun begins.

Aargh!!! Cooper is 4!!!

Well my little boy is not so little anymore, Cooper turned 4 on July 28th. I made him some cupcakes at the house for his birthday, but we had his BIG pirate party on Saturday.
Cooper has been wanting a pirate party for about 6 months, so we have been planning it for awhile. Cooper hand delivered the invitations (plastic bottles with sand in them with a rolled up invitation inside) wearing a pirate hat and a eye patch saying "Aargh, come to my pirate party!"
The night before the party, my sister in law and I stayed up until 3:00 a.m. finishing the cake and decorations. We were exausted but it was worth it!

Cooper LOVED the cake and had a super time playing with his friends. We had pirate everything, when the kids came in the front door they were greeted with a painted skull and cross bones that said BEWARE! When they stepped inside we adorned them with a pirate banadana, a eye patch and temporary tattoos. We had pirate crafts, pirate juice boxes, a pirate pinata and plenty of pirate booty! It was a great party! After the party was over I asked Cooper what was his favorite part of the party was and he said "Well mom, I liked the apples best". :) So all of the pirate splendor and he like the sliced apple snack the most.
